Our Supplemental Curriculum has been carefully developed to meet national criteria for effective reading and mathematics instruction (as outlined by the National Reading Panel and the National Council of Teachers for Mathematics) and Virginia Standards of Learning Curriculum Framework.
Our Math curriculum addresses the key learning strands for grades K-8: Number Sense and Operations, Patterns, Relations and Algebra, Geometry, Measurement, Data Analysis, Statistics and Probability,
For grades 9-12 our curriculum includes all the topics covered by courses the student can select from to clear graduation such as Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Algebra, Functions and Data Analysis, Discrete Mathematics, Statistics and Probability, Computer Mathematics and Mathematical Analysis.
In our reading program we focus on developing reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of print and non-print text.
Whenever a student signs up for our program we ensure that he is being taught in compliance with his division’s curriculum. For example if a student wants tutoring in math and is studying in one of the Henry County Public Schools(HCPS) then he will be taught from our state aligned curriculum and lesson plans developed accordingly as HCPS uses a dynamic curriculum based on Virginia Standards of Learning. It also develops Curriculum Cards, which outline the course content for each subject in each grade level. We therefore, use these cards along with our state aligned supplementary curriculum to ensure that the instruction we provide is aligned with the student's school division. This method is employed for each student whenever he enrolls in our tutoring program.
